Until now Vocxel would write you anything you asked for, but it wouldn't tell you what to ask for next. Courses are the answer to that: a graded path that starts at your first words and runs to C2, one unit at a time.

A unit is six lessons, and only one is a reading

Each unit teaches you a pattern, drills it, lets you hear it used, gives you something to read, tells you why the language does it that way, then tests you on it.

• Learn — how it works, with worked examples and a Watch out for the mistake English speakers actually make
• Practice — eight exercises on what you just learned
• Conversation — two speakers, English revealed line by line, the whole thing read aloud
• Story — the unit's one reading passage
• Culture — why it's like this, with the target-language words pulled out
• Test — twelve harder questions. 80% to pass, and it won't mark itself complete if you don't

Four kinds of practice

Multiple choice, fill the gap, match the pairs, and build the sentence from a word bank. Drill a unit as many times as you like — the questions are part of the course, not something generated fresh each time.

Every word is still tappable

Courses aren't a separate app bolted on. Tap any word in a lesson and you get the same definition, the same save, the same status colours — flowing into the same vocabulary that already powers your readings and games.

And a flag for every language

Languages are now shown with pixel flags built from flat shapes on a 12×8 grid — 85 of them, drawn by hand rather than pulled from emoji, which render as bare letter pairs on Windows anyway. Where a flag can't be drawn honestly at that size, the language gets a lettered tile instead of a bad guess.

Spanish, French, German and Croatian are live at A1, with Spanish A2 alongside them. Courses are in alpha and built for English speakers for now; more starting languages are next.
